how does age play a role in the business that Wal-Mart makes?
my data says that the majority of old people are in the grocery section, lawn and garden,and clothing, why do you think that is?
and the younger age groups were in the electronics departments toy areas
and middle adults were mostly in the clothing section and housewares.

while the grocery had all ages because all people need to eat.

If your observations are correct it may have something to do with Wal-Marts selective marketing, which may, or may not, be intentional. For example, you can go in a Wal-Mart in the midwest and purchase firearms. You couldn’t go in a Wal-Mart in California and buy a gun. Also, many older people notice the 15 day return policy on electronics, in Wal-Mart, and choose to buy a TV elsewhere. Common sense tells us that older people would be doing most of the grocery shopping, while younger people would be in the toy section, unless it’s during Christmas. Common sense also tells us that kids usually have to be dragged into the clothing section at Wal-Mart because, let’s face it, it isn’t the hippest place around.
