Friend that isn’t very friendly?
I sometimes go to see an old friend from school, we’re both 24 and have babies the same age(18 months). Whenever I go to her house we’re there an hour then she puts her son to bed, usually we get there at 10am and he’s in bed by 11. My daughter continues playing but told my daughter off for playing with the musical toys. I know he’s in a routine but why does she invite me at that time just so the children can play for a measly hour? If she comes to mine she leaves after an hour too, should I put up with it or tell her to bog off and concentrate on my other baby friends?
It sounds like your friend is very consistent, which is a very good quality in a parent.
Why not just ask her why she only wants the kids to play for an hour. That’s the only way you’ll understand her logic.
Everyone has their owe parenting style and she may be worried about over stimulation. Just talk to her about it. If you don’t like what she has to say, then start spending time with other people.
You can also try telling her, you don’t want to go the trouble of packing up your daughter and bringing her over just for any hour, and ask if there is a better time to come over when the kids can play longer.
It’s her right to schedule her babies life however she wants, and it’s not asking to much that your daughter not play with loud toys while her son is trying to sleep. You are probably just going to have to accept that’s how she is and if you can’t then don’t go over there anymore.
