why do my pet rats not play with there rat toys?
My rats would rather sleep, lay on me, & run around the house, but they wont play w/ toys anymore, (they are 15 months, & about 4 months) what are some CHEAP, FUN Rat Toys?
if they are male, this is normal, but they should be a little more active. if they are female, this is NOT GOOD! Females are generally more active. A good things to do is to take them out and make them play! you can do this by simply tickling them! they will start to run around and if you do this for a while each day, they will love it and will chase your hand. They may also start playing with each other, and then you can add the toys. Go and but some of those plastic chain rings and hang them up (you can find these at PetSmart as bird toys and Target and Wal-Mart.I bought a arrangement for fish, y’know those clay coral with holes, for my fish a while back, and put it in my cage for the heck of it, and to my suprise, they went is and out oh the holes! and my fish never used it even once!
So just buy some toddler and/or bird toys (espesally with bells!) and chances are your rats will love them! (WARNING! If toys are plastic, 99.99% of the time, holes will get chewed in them! (don’t worry, this is ok and normal!))
